How to Take Your Fingerprints

At Chapters of Joy, we’ve made it simple to capture the perfect fingerprint for your custom jewelry. Follow these steps, and you’ll soon have a beautifully personalized keepsake crafted with care.

What’s Included in Your Kit

• 1 Ink Card
• 2 White Cards
• Detailed Instructions

Everything you need to capture a clean, clear print is provided.

Method A – Using the Inkless Pad

Step 1
Remove the ink card from its wrapper and place it ink-side down on a flat surface. Position the provided white card underneath.

Step 2
Make sure your hands are clean and dry. Gently press your fingertip straight down onto the ink card.

• Tip: Avoid rolling your finger — press straight down for the clearest result.

Step 3
Lift your finger and check the print. Repeat if needed until you get a sharp, detailed impression.

• Tip: Use light to medium pressure. If the print looks smudged, you may be pressing too hard.

Step 4
Let the prints dry for 10 minutes. Then take a clear, well-lit photo with your phone and upload it when placing your order (or email it to info@chaptersofjoy.com).

Method B – Using Simple Materials at Home

If you don’t have a kit, you can still make a good fingerprint using basic items. This method works best for older children and adults.

Materials Needed:

• Pencil
• Plain white paper
• Sticky tape

Steps:

1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Scribble a dark patch of graphite on the paper using the pencil.
3. Rub your finger over the graphite until it’s fully coated.
4. Place sticky tape over the fingerprint and press firmly.
5. Peel the tape and stick it onto a separate sheet of white paper.
6. Label if needed and repeat for additional fingers.

Once your print is ready, simply upload or email it, and we’ll take care of the rest — turning your fingerprint into a lasting keepsake.

Sharing your print with Chapters of Joy is simple. Whether it’s a handprint, footprint, fingerprint, paw print, or handwriting, here’s how to send it to us for your personalized jewelry.

Step 1: Document the Print

• Take a clear photo of the print.
• Use natural light near a window for the best detail.
• Place the print on a plain, light background so it stands out.

Step 2: Upload Your Photo

• Visit our order page.
• Select your jewelry piece and use the upload tool to attach your photo.

Step 3: Send by Email (Optional)

If you prefer, simply email your print to info@chaptersofjoy.com.
