HOW TO TAKE YOUR FINGER PRINTS

At Chapters of Joy, we’ve crafted an easy-to-follow process to help you capture the perfect print for your custom jewelry. Simply follow these steps, and soon you’ll have a beautifully personalized keepsake, handcrafted with care.

Capturing the Perfect FingerPrint

A- Using Inkless Pad

Step 1:
When ready, remove the ink card from its wrapper, place it ink-side down on a flat, hard surface, and position the provided white card beneath it.

Step 2:
Ensure your hands or paws are clean and dry. Gently press the fingertip or paw straight down onto the ink card.
Tip: Avoid rolling your finger for the best result. Groomed paws will produce clearer prints. The ink will transfer only onto the paper, leaving your hands or paws clean.

Step 3:
Lift your finger or paw, and check the print on the white card. Repeat as needed to achieve a clean, clear print. Each try gets easier!
Tip: Use light to medium pressure for the best clarity. If the print looks too dark or smudged, you may be pressing too hard.

Step 4:
Let the prints dry for 10 minutes. Once dry, use your phone’s camera to take a clear, well-lit photo and upload it to our website when placing your order. If you’re unable to upload the image, you can email it to us directly.

B- Using Simple Materials

If you're looking to capture fingerprints using basic household items, follow these steps. This method works well for older children or adults and is quick and easy.

Materials Needed:

• Pencil
• Plain white paper
• Sticky tape

Steps:

1. Ensure that your hands are clean and dry for a clear print.
2. Use the pencil to scribble a dense patch of graphite onto a section of paper.
3. Rub a finger over the graphite until it’s well-coated.
4. Place a piece of sticky tape over the fingerprint and press it firmly to capture the print.
5. Carefully peel the tape away and stick it onto a separate sheet of paper for safekeeping.
6. Label the print if necessary, and repeat for additional fingers if desired.
